Haven’t posted here in a long time, but this is a fantastic song… Similar in a lot of ways to Sufjan in The Age of Adz.
(Oh Heartland, Up Yours! - Owen Pallett)
Hey there party people! I just realized I hadn’t posted the link to my new(ish) music criticism blog, Mad Fancy. It’s got new reviews up now of G-Side’s The ONE… COHESIVE, Tennis’s Cape Dory, and Toro Y Moi’s Underneath the Pine. The link’s http://madfancymusic.wordpress.com/, and I hope you enjoy it!
Come on America…

A stripped-down, minimalist folk rock song from Israeli combo Asaf Avidan and the Mojos, featuring Avidan’s gritty and occasionally intense vocals.

I’m really into this song right now. I think it’s because it reminds me of something you might hear in the car when there’s no one on the road at 4 in the morning on a college radio/AM station, and anything that gives off that sort of vibe becomes infinitely better.
(Crash Years - The New Pornographers)

As much as I love Sigur Rós, the optimism that permeates Jónsi’s solo work, when it pairs with Sigur Rós’s distinctive characteristics, makes it all the more endearing. This song is a great example of that (and a great song too!).
(Boy Lilikoi - Jónsi)
(Girls with Accents - Fences)
